MediaPro Announces new Comprehensive Awareness Program

April 06, 2016

One of the biggest problems facing organizations in a connected ecosystem is security. And while there are many solutions designed to prevent hackers from gaining access to a company's cyber environments, breaches still take place. In many instances the causes of these breaches are the result of a lack of awareness in security protocols by members of the company or from not having the proper governance in place. MediaPro, provider of adaptive training and reinforcement programs to lower the human-based security threats, has announced Adaptive Awareness Framework, a new tool that supports a comprehensive cloud-based awareness program.

According to Gartner, total spending in information security in 2015 was over $75 billion, and Markets and Markets is forecasting the cyber security market to grow to $155.74 billion by 2019, at a CAGR of 10.3 percent from 2014. These data points show organizations are spending a considerable amount of money on protection, but without continual awareness training innocent mistakes by employees can end up resulting in very costly security breaches.

MediaPro notes that the Adaptive Awareness Framework is the result of its more than 20 years of experience in e-Learning and instructional design. The company's propriety model emphasizes continual assessment and improvement of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework with tools to increase knowledge base of employees designed to change their behavior as it applies to security and other compliance regulations of the organization.

"Our vision for an Adaptive Awareness Framework is that it will be an industry driver. Part of that drive is our new Adaptive Awareness Portal, which serves as yet another resource for organizations seeking an integrated awareness solution tied to a framework like ours," said Steve Conrad, Managing Director, MediaPro.

With this new framework in place, organizations can:

  • Analyze their employee-related risks
  • Plan a program to target knowledge and behavior change
  • Train employees with best-in-class online learning and reinforce the message with engaging communication and behavior-targeted interventions

Administrators can use MediaPro’s Adaptive Awareness Portal to gain direct access to all program components, including training, reinforcement, phishing, program planning, knowledge assessments and an LMS to build an awareness plan.

Cybercrime or crimes involving computers and networks have cost the world economy more than $445 billion annually, according to a 2014 report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies. And, the PWC Global State of Information Security Survey 2015 revealed Companies across all industries worldwide have reported a total of 42.8 million detected attacks in 2014, which was a 48 percent increase from the prior year.

Companies are resigned to the fact they will eventually experience a security breach.  Having systems in place, such as the Adaptive Awareness Framework from MediaPro, will ensure it doesn't happen because of human error within the organization.

As studies have revealed, when it comes to cyber security humans remain the weakest link, and education, training and having skilled certified professionals overseeing that best practices and policies are developed and enforced can go a long way to improving any organization’s security posture.
